Counting game with highest score

A maximum score per hole improves the speed of play in stroke play tournaments.
With the „nettopar +2“ setting, the maximum strokes per player and per hole are determined. This particularly improves the speed of play.

The fixed (without reference to the HCPI) maximum number of strokes per hole always refers to par+2+strokes (see WHS rules, licenced for the DGV - calculation of the GBE - evaluated gross result)! Par 3 holes can therefore only be set up to 8 strokes (3 possible strokes).
If, for example, a league announcement states that double par +1 should be played, this may be appropriate in relation to the participants (with a maximum course handicap of 36), but the software cannot automatically support you in this. There is no way to make the fixed setting adjustable in relation to the field of participants and the course handicaps of the participants.
In this case, the players will have to implement the announcement themselves.

If your tournament announcement provides for this, you simply process the tournament:

Create a counting game with the highest score

Create a new competition:

  1. Set the counting method to Counting game/Highest result
  2. Then click on Details

  1. Tick the box for „Counting game with highest score per hole“
  2. Select how many strokes are intended for a par 3, par 4 and par 5 according to the invitation to tender. This setting ensures that the GBE can be determined correctly, even if a player has a course handicap higher than 54.
  3. Players who would also have holes with 4 handicap strokes would then receive fewer Stableford points on the results list with the lowest setting (par 3 - 8, par 4 - 9, par 5 10 strokes), similar to the setting and „calculating“ the handicap in the basic competition settings.
  4. With this setting, the maximum score for the holes is the same for every player, regardless of the HCP index.
  5. You can also, as in the next image, e.g: Net par+2 for example. This determines the maximum score for each player and each individual hole. With this setting, a player with a course handicap of 18 on a par 3 is calculated down to 6 strokes, for example.

Visibility of the setting

As soon as you have made settings that are calculated as the highest result, this is also displayed in the basic betting game settings:

The 1st digit stands for par 3, the 2nd digit for par 4, the 3rd digit for par 5

… and here the net par is calculated +2 for each par 3, par 4 and par 5

Scorecard Highest result

When printing the scorecard, PC CADDIE automatically prints the highest score set in the competition on the holes. The player then knows when he can pick up the ball to try his luck on the next tee.

Enter results

When entering results, it does not matter whether you enter the intended maximum result or an actual number of strokes played, e.g. 20 (if the player had not cancelled). When totalling the results, PC CADDIE will only add the highest score per hole set in the competition for the counting game result!

Normal input of counting game results:
For this screenshot, the highest result in the competition is set to nettopar+2 is set as the highest score in the competition. When entering the results, you will see the set maximum score per hole for this player, in this case nettopar +2, just like on the scorecard!

If you still have a stroke PC CADDIE suggests that you enter the maximum score:

As soon as you Enter maximum strokes the maximum score is automatically entered for this hole.

Result list like counting game

The results are added up as in the counting game.
If, for example, the result entered for par 5 is 15, only 10 strokes are added.

The maximum result settings for the competition are printed in the header of the lists:
