Electronic scorecard

The R&A Rules of Golf have permitted electronic scoring since 2019. The golf umbrella organisations in the countries implement the regulations differently, based on the digital strategy pursued in each case. As this partially affects the functions of electronic scoring, you can find the current status of implementation in PC CADDIE here

Electronic scoring with PC CADDIE "eScoring"

Golf courses that use the tournament functions of the PC CADDIE://Online app, the electronic scoring module is available within the app. The game results are technically transferred directly to the PC CADDIE tournament software. This means that all eScoring functions are available to golf courses and their tournament players. The transfer and release of player data complies with the tested data protection requirements.
The eScoring functions are constantly being expanded dynamically based on the diverse experiences and feedback from eScoring users. You can find the eScoring functions here: eScoring with PC CADDIE://Online

Country-specific features of electronic scoring

According to the AMR rules of the German Golf Association, electronic scoring is only permitted in Germany if it is carried out via the specially created and licensed interface of a „Qualified Electronic Scorecard (QeSC)“ of the German Golf Association (or its subsidiary, Deutsche Golfsport GmbH (DGS)).

PC CADDIE has not yet implemented the connection to this interface, as the requirements of golf courses for eScoring differ from the requirements of the QeSC in fundamental points:

  • Functional scope of the QeSCThe range of functions and uncomplicated handling are the strengths of direct PC CADDIE eScoring. We want to realise your wishes quickly and flexibly, as our integrated solution allows. With the standardised QeSC interface, the DGV decides on the functional scope of the electronic scoring.
  • SupportIn the event of technical queries about eScoring or error messages on the mobile device of individual tournament players, PC CADDIE has full access to the technology and therefore the solution for eScoring. In addition to DGV-IT, other IT companies are involved in QeSC. PC CADDIE IT can therefore not fully guarantee error messages during tournament operations.
  • Player marketing and data transferThe QeSC provides for a direct contractual relationship between the tournament player and the selected scoring app. In addition, an account with the DGV is required for the golf player to agree to the QeSC. This enables the app provider and the DGV to market services and products directly to the golfer. By connecting PC CADDIE eScoring to the QeSC, our app transfers all tournament players to a direct marketing agreement and data transfer between the golfer and the DGV.

Since the above-mentioned points are not reversible after a connection to the QeSC and the associated transfer of marketing rights to the DGV, PC CADDIE will not provide this interface until further notice.

If you would like to use electronic scoring with app providers with QeSC, you can find the settings in the PC CADDIE software here: DGV Qualifizierte elektronische Scorekarte (QeSC)

Further information on the differences between eScoring and scoring via QeSC can be found here: https://vimeo.com/530270790/c10bace8b1
