Scorecards

Directly in the tournament mask on the right via Print or
under Competitions/Print…/Scorecards you have the option of printing your own customised scorecards for tournaments, either complete with frame, or having pre-printed scorecards filled in:

Intranet course check when printing scorecards

Germany and Switzerland only: When scorecard printing is started, the system automatically checks whether the course is up to date. This has the advantage that you do not inadvertently print scorecards with outdated data:

Default distribution for foursomes

In mixed foursomes or mixed foursomes with selective drive, handicap strokes are the handicap strokes are given according to the men's handicap distribution key (DGV handicap system)

Foursomes and automatic scorecard system

Not everything can work in every combination with regard to the scorecard fields, but this does not affect the calculation in the competition.
Look at this example: If, in foursomes with mixed pairings, the man is paired with the woman as the 1st player, this has an effect on the automatic scorecard fields. Not everything can automatically print the same in every variant. The betting game is nevertheless calculated correctly.

Selection of the scorecard type

With Type PC CADDIE offers you the following variants to choose from:

  • 1-9: Free types
  • Endless stickers
  • Laser sticker (2×8)
  • Alt: Fill in card individually
  • Alt: Card only HCP distribution
  • Alt: HCP distribution side by side

Normally, only the nine free types should be used for a new configuration, as the setting options are much more flexible here. „Endless stickers“ and the types preceded by „Alt:“ are only suitable for clubs that still fill out their scorecards with an endless dot matrix printer.

Laser stickers can be used very well for flag competitions, for example, details of which will be explained later.

TIP For golf courses with good laser printer equipment, we recommend leaving the tournament scorecards completely blank on the inside. PC CADDIE can print all information completely with a frame. This procedure has significant advantages:

  • You choose a ready-made format and do not need to customise your pre-printed scorecards. In addition, the printout fits perfectly into the frame and results in a very uniform overall picture.
  • Changes to the rating values, information on metres etc. are changed in the course data - and the next scorecard is printed correctly with the new values.
  • If you want to change the design of your scorecard, or if you want a very special layout for the club championships, you can do this yourself. For more complex changes to the scorecard layout, we will be happy to provide you with a quote.

TIP Please always save the original layout before making any changes.

If the players in the tournament start from different tees, it is possible to print the different rating values. The scorecard design can be customised for this purpose. You have three options for printing the rating values:

Firstly, select a New, prefabricated format format. To do this, go to the scorecard function via People/Print: Scorecards and then click on Set. First press Save to file and save your previous format with the name including the date, e.g. „Scorecard23112010.SCK“, to be on the safe side.

In the second step, click on Load from file and select one of these formats (or your own as a copy to the position of a free type):

  • RAHMUSA.SCK: Scorecard for courses with two lengths, to be written from left to right

  • RAHMGERO.SCK: Scorecard for courses with two lengths (yellow/red)

  • RAHMFARB.SCK: Coloured scorecard for courses with four lengths

  • RAHMNAME.SCK: Scorecard for courses with two lengths, with names for the individual holes

Confirm the selection with OK and test the printout.

Now add the slope and course rating values under the Length column. There are often one or two lines free under the totals for all 18 holes (for entering the handicap and net result in the player column). If you select the element „Rating under lengths“ or „Rating under lengths, single line“, the rating is printed in the length columns in the bottom lines. It may be necessary to move (or remove) the elements „Hcp“ and „Net.“, which are printed under the hole number, to the right in the column of the handicap distribution.

Finally, add the slope and course rating values in the scorecard header with free positioning. To do this, click on the „CR/SR…“ elements with the New element (F2) button and position them. When printing the complete scorecards, you also have the option of printing the values of the tees on which the currently printed player is playing separately using the „Rating SR/CR“ element.

Settings

For the reason mentioned above, we will only go into the setting options for the free types. Each of these types contains a setting option. In principle, the types are similar - however, you have the option of storing a different scorecard definition for each of the nine positions. For example, type 1 could be used to save how your existing scorecards are filled in, while type 2 could be used to save how PC CADDIE should print complete cards with frames. All other types are then free for another variant. If you click on the right on Settings on the right, the settings always refer to the currently activated type:

Here you can set everything related to scorecard printing. It is best to give the type a concise designation. For our example, the designation „Scorecards with frame“ was selected.

General settings

With Always or not for counting game you have the following choice:

  • Not in counting play This is the normal setting and means that the handicap lines are printed for Stableford and against par, but not for the counting game.
  • Always With this selection, handicap lines are also printed in the counting game.
  • No HCP distribution In principle no printed.

In the case of four-ball counting game competitions, the handicap distribution for both players is also printed if the setting „not in counting game“ is selected, as in this case the comparison of the net hole results should be simplified for the players.

TIP If you do not want this, you must select „No HCP distribution“ for four-ball tournaments! When Display as bars or numbers you can decide whether you want the handicap distribution to be printed as bars, as is generally the case, or whether you would prefer it to be displayed in figures (net par). With net par a par 4 hole on which a player has a handicap of 2 strokes is not printed with two dashes (//) are printed, but the figure „6“ (the net par). This is sometimes a useful setting for beginners' tournaments. To do this, in the scorecard settings, select Display as dashes or digits Net par:

The option both players on one card for four-ball or aggregate should normally be activated, otherwise a separate card is printed for each player in four-ball or aggregate matches. In the field Additional information for single players field should normally only contain „<CLUB>“ should normally be entered:

However, you can trigger special functions here with the following additions. To do this, write one of the following commands after the existing entry:

<MSPV> For members, the match default is also printed in brackets after the name
<ISPV> The game default is always printed in brackets after the name (even for guests)
<MSTV> For members, the EGA handicap (master handicap) is also printed in brackets after the name
<ISTV> The EGA handicap is always printed in brackets after the name (also for guests)

Installation of paper

If you click on Paper format you can specify the orientation of the map on the paper:

Please note that experience has shown that it is more favourable to leave the format at DIN A4, even though the cards are usually DIN A5 in size! The following are particularly important orientation and the possibility of several copies on one sheet on one sheet. For example, you can have two scorecards printed side by side on a DIN A4 sheet turned horizontally. Then the cards only need to be separated in the centre. This option is also very important if you want to print stickers. Here you can specify how many stickers fit next to each other and below each other on one sheet.

QeSc - Competitions with qualified electronic scorecard

Determine appearance, position elements

With the information in the fields Shift the expression to the right or downwards fields, the printout can be positioned very precisely on the paper. However, you usually only need to make this setting at the end, once all the individual dimensions have been set correctly in relation to each other. Please note that you must always set negative values can always be entered! For example, if you enter Shift to the right „-5.00“, the printout on the paper will be shifted 5mm to the left. to the left!

TIP Before you edit the individual elements, you should first save the existing format to a file to be on the safe side. save to file. The storage location is the TEXTE folder in PC CADDIE. You can then load the format as required, just like other prepared formats. To do this, use Load from file and select one of these formats, for example:

  • CHNEU.SCK ⇒ All location information is printed
  • NURSTIC.SCK ⇒ In addition to the header information, only the handicap distribution, any pin positions and target times are printed
  • RAHMMD.SCK ⇒ Scorecard is printed with frame
  • RAHMQ.SCK ⇒ Scorecard is printed with a frame, but in landscape format
  • RAHM.FARB.SCK ⇒ Score card with colour and frame

Load these formats once and then print them out to get an overview. You can edit the format that comes closest to your ideas as follows: In the list of elements, the components that make up the scorecard print are listed individually:

A fairly simple example of such an element is „Tournament name + date“. Use the button on the right …edit (F7), on the right to edit this element:

Here you can easily change the position of the element in millimetres from the left and from the top from the top. The font type can also be defined very freely. It is very easy to position elements such as the tournament name, start time etc., which only appear once on each scorecard. For the entries that should be made for each hole, such as the handicap lines, length information, par or handicap distribution, things are a little more complicated:

For the actual element „Strokes, 1st player“, you only specify the distance from the left side of the edge at which the strokes are to be printed. The position from the top remains empty here. This is slightly different for each hole and therefore results from the elements „Offset of hole entries“ and „Jump per hole“. The „Offset of hole entries“ determines the height at which the first hole is to be printed or filled. Changing these values moves all hole entries together across the paper. Under „Gap per hole“ you specify the line spacing. This specification must be very precise, as a small deviation can easily add up to a large offset over the 18 holes. Special tasks can be solved with the following elements:

  • Jump to header ⇒ determines how many millimetres above the first hole any column heading should be printed (in the case of four-ball, the information on who should write in which column). The specification here usually has a negative value, as it is an upward offset!
  • Jump at Out ⇒ is necessary if there is an irregular distance between holes 9 and 10. If this element is missing, PC CADDIE assumes that the „Out“ line is just as high as a normal hole line. If this is not the case, you must add this element and enter the corresponding distance.

If you would like to add further information to the scorecard, you can do so by clicking on New element (F2) to add them. Your finished settings are saved after confirming with OK automatically saved. You also have the option of saving the configuration with Save to file under an individual name on the hard disc. This gives you double security, a large selection of alternative configurations and you can also transfer the settings from one computer to another using a floppy disc!

TIP You can also print out the passage times (hole by hole) and the default distribution of the counter on the scorecards.

It is very important to be able to print the of the counter on the scorecard in a separate column. in a separate column on the scorecard. To do this, simply add the following in the scorecard settings with New element (F2) in the scorecard settings and enter PC CADDIE where this information should be printed.

To enter the correct position at which PC CADDIE should print the desired information, please select in the window for the Scorecard settings window, select the corresponding entry and then select Edit (F7).

Enter the position in the next window and confirm with OK. You can measure the position at which the information is to be printed using a lined line. Only enter the information „from the left“ and „from above“. Align yourself with font simply follow the existing settings for „Strokes, 1st player“.

The dashes are printed for the player and the counter at the stored position.

Bold your own markdown

When printing the complete scorecards, you have the option of printing the player's lengths in bold, to print them in bold, to emphasise them. To do this, you only need to go to the settings with New element (F2) to add the „Bold own markdown“ element.

Tea colour or CR values

The choice is yours:
Do you want to automatically print the CR values for the player on the scorecard?
Or do you have little space on the scorecard? Then you could print the tee colour instead. tee colour colour of the player's tee instead:

Choose between these two commands (found under Elements):

Here you can see both commands on the scorecard. You decide!

Scorecard for holes 10-18

If a 9-hole tournament is played from the course holes 10-18 and is also printed on a pre-printed (by the printer) scorecard, you can achieve printing on holes 10-18 by always activating the following field in your scorecard layout:

To ensure that the „Print on second 9 holes if necessary“ field knows what to do, it is also important that you set the course to „second 9 holes“ in the course data to „second 9 holes“. in the course data. Read Loading course data from the intranet for 18 and 9-hole courses. Here, using the example of course 10-18, it is also described where this is set.

If you print the scorecards completely with PC CADDIE on white paper, it is also important that you set the hole name translation in the course data. Please read Download course data from the intranet for 18 and 9 hole courses. This describes how the hole name translation is done.

Scorecard with marked tee (cannon start)

Every tournament start/tee shot that deviates from tee 1 can be highlighted in colour on the scorecard. The effect: every player immediately recognises the hole on which he is starting and begins to enter his results. Our highlighting also works for existing club scorecard forms, as the hole handicaps are entered in the usual order (1 - 18).

You activate this marking by selecting a coloured box in the scorecard layout and positioning it on the tee. Select the element „Box“ element and make sure that it is then at the TOP of the list of elements used. The „must“ command must come before the print commands so that, for example, the „lines“ are printed on the „box“. (The elements are applied in the order of the entries):

Position the colour box:

  • Select colour: For testing, we recommend a clearly visible colour that you can change later.
  • Take approximately our dimensions, see below. This will colour the entire line. You may need to vary the colour depending on the scorecard layout.
  • Set to „on the tee“.

To test, select a tournament with a cannon start and a player, in this example from tee 3. You may have to move the box a few millimetres to the left, right, up or down after the first press. Just try and test until the pressure fits. If this is successful, the marking will fit - fully automatically - for all other tees and tournament players!

In this way, this would be your result: the scorecard with a marked cannon start tee:

PS: On black and white printers, the colour appears as a shade of grey. It is better to choose a light colour so that the black text remains legible.

It is possible to print the maximum number of strokes per hole at which a player would still receive a Stableford point. This is particularly useful for players with high handicaps. This setting also promotes the flow of the game.

To do this, select the appropriate scorecard elements and set the position next to the handicap lines. The maximum number of strokes per hole is determined from the par of the hole and the handicap:

Preset asterisks instead of preset dashes

If you prefer to use default asterisks instead of default dashes, this is possible with a special setting. Please contact support@pccaddie.com

Order

IMAGE

In the field Sequence field, you have the following options to choose from:

  • Start order
  • One card per flight
  • Alphabetical
  • Handicaps
  • Clubs

Of particular importance is „One card per flight“. You should use this option to print only one card for each team in a Pro/Am tournament. This is automatic for foursomes or scramble tournaments, as there is a team handicap for these types of tournaments.

Name and information

Check the tournament name and the additional tournament information here. PC CADDIE may have had to shorten the tournament name, so you should check whether the name still makes sense. In the second line of information, you have the option of entering additional free text as required. You can determine where this is printed under Settings with the „Additional info 2“ element.

:!: Use the second information line to provide players with important information such as „Better today“ or to draw attention to special prizes such as „Nearest to the Pin - Hole 3“.

Information

Select here which additional information should be printed on the card. For example, should the preliminary round result is to be printed on the scorecard for the 2nd round in multi-round tournaments, select between gross and net result here.

Time range

After activating Time range you can select the time range for which the scorecards are to be printed if you only want to print part of the start list.

Start printout/test

The printout is usually started with Print (F8) to start the printout. All scorecards are then printed out one after the other. If the printout was interrupted in between and is to be continued later from a certain player, please use the button From-To…:

Here you can specify at which player the printout should start again. If necessary, you can also specify where it should stop. If you want to reprint individual scorecards or just test the printout, use the button Single person:

Enter the player to be printed here. In a foursome, the card is of course printed with the partner.

Intranet check of the guests before printing

When you start printing scorecards for the first time in a tournament, you will be asked to compare the guest HCPs with the intranet. intranet. Normally, please select „Yes, check“ here

The result looks as follows. The line is highlighted in YELLOW if the handicap has changed and is highlighted in GREEN, if the handicap was already OK before the intranet check. If no club is specified for the player, the line is WHITE with the text „Abroad“. RED with the text WRONG ANSWER means that the player with the specified club cannot be found on the intranet.

Message about new court data

If the association has provided a new rating for your course data, you will receive the following message when you print your scorecard:

You can print the scorecards and complete the tournament with the previous course data up to the specified date (14 days)!
Within the deadline you should load the new course data! Once these have been loaded, the scorecards and the tournament conclusion can only be made with the new course data.

Stickers for a flag competition

First select the betting game, click on Print/Scorecards and select a „blank“ scorecard, e.g. TYPE 8 (the endless and laser stickers offer far fewer options) and then click on then click on Settings:

Then continue on the right with Load from file

You get to the PC CADDIE main folder TEXTS, mark the Zweckform label 3665 (this would be best with 2 labels next to each other) and confirm with clearest with 2 stickers next to each other) and confirm with open. As you can see, there is also the file AUF3x8 directly in this selection, this would be a suitable setting for 3 stickers next to each other and 8 stickers below each other on an A4 sheet, if it is to be a little smaller. smaller.

If you now replace the handicap expression with the target number of strokes, you are finished. To do this, first select „Handicap“ and choose …edit F7.

:!: Remove the tick from „Print this information“, make a note of the settings (in order to then use them to use them for the target beat count instead) and confirm with OK.

Click on the button New element (F2).

Select „Target beat rate“ and confirm with OK.

Check the settings that we have previously noted under „Handicap“; they may need to be corrected. Tick the „Print this information“ box and confirm with OK.

Confirm again with OK and you can print „Scorecards“ as usual, or you will now receive not the usual scorecards, but stickers. Here is a sample printout: (if you look a little further, we will show you how you can change the size of the stickers).

You can set the size of the stickers under „Paper size“:

Pay particular attention to the settings at the bottom. You can set how many stickers next to each other and below each other on the sheet and how far the printout of the stickers should be shifted to the right and downwards to set the positions on a DIN A4 sheet.

Further scorecard layouts

Create scorecard copy for modification

If you want to make changes to your scorecard, you can first create a copy of your scorecard in order to make your changes here. This means that you still have the option of reverting to the original scorecard layout if necessary. To make a copy, first save the scorecard layout you are currently using. This is how it works:

Select your scorecard type - here the „4“ - and click on „Settings“

Then select „Save to file“

Ideally, you should save the scorecard setting in the PC CADDIE folder TEXTE. This is normally suggested automatically if no other path is preset. Give the scorecard a name with which you can identify it again and click on Save

You are then automatically back in the scorecard that you saved and should close this window with OK to exit this window, to return to the following window:

Now select a scorecard type that you are certainly not currently using, in the current example it is type 9. However, Scorecard landscape could also be entered here, for example, if you are sure that you never use Scorecard landscape for printing scorecards. for printing scorecards. So if you are sure that you have set a type that you do not use, click again on Settings.

Then click on Load from file. You are automatically in the TEXTS folder and only need to select the file that you previously saved with the name.

Then click on Open and you have set the copy of your scorecard - in this example to type9.

Give the COPY of your scorecard a new name!
As soon as you click OK the layout will be available to you under type 9 with the new name. You can now make your desired changes here without affecting the original.

You can also use „Print preliminary round results“ for printing the intermediate results in Eclectic tournaments.
:!: It is important important that you print the previous intermediate result BEFORE printing the scorecard for the next round (screen print is sufficient)

There are 2 ways to set up the tournaments:

  • Multi-Eclectic from several single tournaments (recommended if the rounds are spread over the year)

It is important that you select all tournaments when printing the interim results, including those that will be played in the future for the Eclectic.
Have a look here: Evaluate and print annual eclectic

  • Multi-round tournament Eclectic hole-by-hole (recommended if one round is played daily and the dates are close together)

:!: In the following screenshot you can see a printed scorecard with the Eclectic hole results achieved so far. If no result is printed for a hole, the hole has been „cancelled“.

We will now explain how you can complete the printing of the preliminary round results on your scorecard yourself.

It is best to test the changes for the scorecard print in a scorecard copy.
The creation of the copy is described here: Create a copy of the scorecard

When you are ready, next think about where you want to position the hole-by-hole pre-round scores. This could be to the right of the handicap lines for the player. So that you can adjust the position for printing position for printing, it is best to look at the position settings for Strokes, 1st player . Select the command as shown in the following screenshot and click on the right on Edit

Then copy all the settings from „Strokes, 1st player“ here. For the setting of the first round hole results, which in our example are to be printed to the right of the player strokes, we will only add the corresponding millimetres to „Position from left“ the corresponding millimetres.
Everything noted? Then go back to this window and click on the right on New element

Scroll here and search for Pre-round hole erg.

Select the „Pre-round hole creation“ command and confirm with OK

You can then enter the position for the command. Compare the settings with your previously noted settings and change as required. Pay attention to „Position from left“

When you have finished everything, you will see that the command is now available for your scorecard. Confirm with OK and test the scorecard printout for the 2nd round in a suitable tournament (of course, the player should already have a result in the 1st round)
Before printing, you can also set whether you want to print the gross or net results.

;-) Similarly, you can also print the command for the preliminary round result of the counter.
The command for this is called: Pre-hole result, counter and you will also find this under „new element“. You could place this e.g. near the dashes, counters for example. Good luck!

The entry of hole names is explained at Loading course data from the intranet

Customised scorecard templates

PC CADDIE will be happy to create a customised template for you. Please send an e-mail to support@pccaddie.com to enquire about the current prices and offers for template creation.

Sample print scorecard with filled calculation

If you have entered 36 in the tournament mask under Calculation, the scorecard for a player with a higher handicap will look like this:

  • 43 is the game handicap for the set calculation 36,
  • in brackets is the original handicap 45 with the corresponding handicap 52,
  • the handicap lines are printed in full on the scorecard with 52.
  • This is absolutely essential, as the tournament could be handicapped and the player must be counted with the original handicap of 45 for the scorecard result.
  • Only on the results list will the net player be sorted with a calculation of 36 and a handicap of 43, and will therefore drop further down the ranking.
