Update Germany Version 14.3.1

Here we give you an overview of the new features for PC CADDIE version 14.3.1.

update morning automatic queries of the HCPI - for statistics

Due to discussions with the DGV, new handicap statistics will be provided from June 2024 (PC CADDIE update). For this purpose, the current handicaps of the members are required and will be automatically synchronised with the DGV in the morning!
Download the current PC CADDIE update:

The following prompt will then appear: Confirm „Prepare HCPI statistics daily“!
If you have declined the request, you will be asked a total of 7 times when starting PC CADDIE.

Every morning you will then see simple HCPI statistics in your intranet information window.

If required, you can transfer the figures to an Excel list, for example, to study the development.
There are no other setting options for this function.
Attention: The statistics for certain days can no longer be called up retroactively!

The setting can also be found in the intranet configuration:

This requires a service in the Service Manager, which is certainly already installed in most clubs. If something does not work as expected after the update, please get in touch!

Automatic HCPI queries in the morning

Attention current info scroll up one post!

As of 1 April 2024, the morning query of member handicaps was discontinued in accordance with the DGV specifications.
Due to discussions with the DGV, a function with handicap statistics was provided from June 2024 (PC CADDIE update).
For this purpose, the current handicaps of the members are required and automatically synchronised with the DGV in the morning! See the detailed article above!

Updated information (valid from 1.4.24. to June 2024): Due to the requirements of the DGV specifications for the club management software systems, it is no longer permitted to carry out an automatic check of all member HCPIs in the early morning hours.
This is therefore deactivated from PC CADDIE version 14.3 (effective date 1.4.24).
It is important to the DGV that the queries are started manually in the secretariat in order to be able to select a purpose.
The automatic checks for tournaments and start times will continue to be carried out, as the intended use is clear in these cases and it is particularly important for tournaments to have the current HCPI in the tournament on the tournament day before the start of the respective tournament (even if the scorecards were printed the day before).

You can restart the HCPI queries manually using the DGV button:

You can select the intended use in the next query:

Delete player from tournament

DGV regulation

Status 28.3.25: the following rule will be cancelled by the DGV after one year!
Deleting players in a tournament is now possible again after the tournament has started!

The DGV regulations now stipulate that players may no longer be removed from the start list after the start of the tournament (rule cancelled by the DGV - as of 28.3.25).

Players can therefore no longer be deleted from the start of the tournament (1st start time). Regardless of the reason why the player is „wrong“ in the start list, an N.A. (not entered) is automatically transmitted to the DGV as the result in the event of missing results.
No players should remain in the buffer before the start of the tournament, as players from the buffer also automatically receive an N.A. if no result is entered.

If you try to delete a player too late, the following message appears:

Closing date on tournament day

Please remember that a „start time“ in the player editor of 0:00 is a time on the tournament day, even if the entry deadline is not until the tournament day!
In the example, you cannot delete a player on 19 April because 0:00 is in the past. The start of the tournament refers to the time.

Solution: Create the planned start time grid for the day! If the first start time is still in the „future“, you can delete players.

Team specification classic foursome

The playing handicap is 1/2 the sum of the two course handicaps. However, this is no longer displayed as a decimal number, but rounded up (from 0.5) or down (to 0.4) to whole strokes.

Guest player query only with gender

Since 2024, when you add a new guest, the DGV server also requires the gender to be entered in order to provide a response.
If you do not enter a gender, the DGV will send the response „ASP 8“! ASP 8 always means that no answer will be delivered from the DGV intranet for the query that was made!
As soon as you enter the gender, the enquiry will work. PC CADDIE has no influence on this. Settings with which data a response is delivered are set on the DGV server.

9 holes GBE calculation

The DGV is planning to change the GBE calculation process for 9-hole tournaments with effect from 1 April 2024.
As soon as the cut-off date comes into force, a new PC CADDIE version will be required from that date, which will be licensed by the DGV by then, otherwise no 9-hole results will be accepted by the DGV server (as a mixture of GBE for 9 holes and GBE for 18 holes extrapolated as it is currently not possible on the DGV server).

PC CADDIE then calculates a GBE over 9 holes according to DGV rules for 9-hole results and transmits this to the DGV! An „extrapolation“ to an 18-hole GBE is no longer available from PC CADDIE. Questions regarding further HCPI calculation should be addressed to the DGV regulations department!

Example list 9 holes counting game:

Automatic NA for players without a result

If no result has been entered for a player in the tournament, this player will automatically be automatically set to NA (not entered) according to DGV regulations.
This applies to players in the start list and also to players who have remained in the buffer. Players on the waiting list remain unaffected.

At the end of the tournament, a message will appear as usual indicating for whom no result has been entered.

If you confirm the tournament conclusion with „OK“, the players are then set to NA:

The NA result is sent to the DGV intranet for the players at the end of the tournament.
It is important for the DGV regulations that no players who were on the start list are deleted from the tournament, and it should also be ensured that a result is sent for all players. If no result has been entered, it will be NA (not entered). The result has no effect on the HCPI.

Free game form - new tournament end

The DGV would now also like to have the results of tournaments with „free play form“ finalised. This is why they are now included in the final reminder!
These tournaments remain „NOT HCPI relevant“ throughout the year.

Tournament Inclusion Change Selection

From the DGV licensing for PC CADDIE version 14.3 (planned for the end of March 2024) there will be a new selection for inclusion in tournaments:

Check tournament registrations from the DGV Intranet

Under the tab „Functions“ in the tournaments in the internet settings there is now a link to the DGV to check open tournament registrations:

HCPI Relevance Multi Round Tournament

PC CADDIE automatically suggests the appropriate setting for HCPI relevance per round.
With the new version 14.3. you can also see this, next to the game form under details and „individual configurations for the individual rounds“

The 1st round is a classic foursome as set in the basic settings, and automatically NOT HCPI relevant. The 2nd round is only played over 6 holes and can only be NOT HCPI relevant.
The 3rd round is a single over 18 holes and automatically HCPI relevant.

Pro without HCPI no longer on net singles lists

According to DGV regulations, a pro without HCPI may no longer appear on a net individual results list, but only on gross individual results lists (as usual, you can also set the pro to „out of competition“).

Here you can see an example of a list. The Proette is only on the gross results list!

Counting game with highest result HCP limits

From PC CADDIE version 14.3 (DGV licensing planned for the end of March 2024), HCPI limits can be entered for the tournament counting method counting game with highest result, with separate HCPI values for men and women:

This function was created in response to customer requests and is not a DGV requirement. The function is nevertheless relevant for acceptance.
There is no combination of Stableford and highest score in a tournament. In this case you can create 2 tournaments.

Home club unknown for "ALT" club numbers

You can also see the former club in the person:

In such a case, the player editor immediately displays „Home club unknown“

HCPI list directly from the DGV portal

Here you do not access data directly in PC CADDIE, but open a link to the DGV portal.
We at PC CADDIE therefore have no influence on the possibilities of this list, as this list is provided directly by the DGV portal.

A selection will follow:
