here you will find the explanations to the Start of the year dialogue!
The changes are already included in the downloaded update and will take effect on 1 April 2016!
Further Wiki links to the changes are in progress and will be made available to you here on this page in the next few days!
Together with the golf associations, the effective date for the changes to the handicap system has been set as 1 April 2016 for all clubs.
All clubs must have loaded the 2016 PC CADDIE version by the start of the changes on 1 April 2016. For all clubs, 1 April 2016 is programmed as the cut-off date in the update, many changes will only be activated on 1.4.16, regardless of whether a club loads the update in February or March 2016!
Information from the ASG: http://www.ega-golf.ch/content/system-manual
For the settings for online match registration via the Internet, there are now the age groups AK50 (previously AK55) and AK30 (previously AK35).
New is the possibility to enter a flexible age date when registering for tournaments flexible age cut-off date!
In future, players and courses will be checked automatically at the latest when the scorecards are printed.
The window for the result entry has been extended. You can directly see the slope and CR value of the tee shot for the player and you can enter penalty strokes for the round.
If the competition management assigns penalty strokes for the round (which are not to be added to the result of a single hole), they are entered in the extra field: Penalty strokes for the round
Competitions that were created before the changeover to the EGA-HCP system, or competitions that you have copied from before the changeover, should be checked on the Internet with regard to the price classification display. If the prices for the competition look like in the following screenshot (HCP up to 41 instead of HCP up to – ), it is necessary that you change the edit the price setting in PC CADDIE in each affected tournamentand transfer it to the intranet again (the handicap limit of 41 results from the handicap system used at the time the original tournament was created, when the handicap system was still used up to HCP 36, and therefore cannot be changed automatically):
There are more options for prize evaluation, also automatically with the helper to preconfigure many special prizes as desired. In addition to „Nearest to the Pin“, „Longest Drive Ladies“ and „Longest Drive Men“, you could also define „Hit the Green“ or „Nearest to the Line“, for example. Have a look at our online documentation under: Defining prizes with the helper
There are more detailed settings for CR equalisation in gross. Study the options for CR equalisation
As of 2016, the differences in the handicap handicap systems of the countries are so different that on results lists the new handicaps of players with a foreign home club can no longer be displayed on results lists.
In particular, there are countries that still determine a CBA and in other countries the CBA has been completely abolished. CBA values are therefore no longer transmitted via the international interface (intranet between the countries).
In some countries, handicap classes 4 and 5 are no longer raised, and other countries only no longer raise handicap class 5.
Due to these differences, the results of players with foreign home clubs are transmitted via the intranet (as far as possible between the countries), but the player with a foreign home club should ask his home club which handicap results from this!
For handicap class 2 (4.5 to 11.4), 9-hole competitions with handicap effect are now also permitted and are scored in PC CADDIE with handicap effect. HCP class 1 can only be achieved with an 18-hole tournament.
Hole competitions can now also be processed with results directly in PC CADDIE and transferred to the intranet.
Read our example of a single hole competition and try it out right away!
If a club exports the tournament to another club after the 1st round, for example, and this club imports the tournament in order to play a 2nd round, the club that plays the 2nd round becomes the tournament master with regard to INTRANET.
If the club that handled the 1st round wants to transfer data of this match to the intranet again after the transfer to the 2nd club, it will receive a „warning“ that the 2nd club is the „master“ and must therefore be informed as a minimum.
The handicap status „active/not active“ has been cancelled without replacement. The display in PC CADDIE will be completely removed from 1 April 2016.
The adjustment of the buffer zones (CBA - Computed Buffer Adjustment) at the end of the tournament will only be determined for handicap classes 1 to 3. The minimum number of people in a tournament from which the CBA is applied is 10 in the CBA-relevant categories (1 to 3).
The algorithm for the CBA calculation has been refined and the -3 and -4 reductions have been cancelled.
The Loading the master data sheet from the intranet for new members has been added. The list of entries is now displayed before they are finally loaded into the master data sheet.
From 1 April 2016, the appearance of the master data sheets has changed. For example, there are now the columns „ND“ and „SGD“. These values are included in the calculation of the AHR (Annual Handicap Review).
The EGA handicap system has been expanded. The EGA handicap class 6 (handicap 37-54) is new.
To obtain an EGA handicap, a player must submit at least one Stableford result (EDS or competition) over 9 or 18 holes.
EGA Handicap system for Switzerland
The annual review of handicaps (AHR) remains in place with modified calculations and regulations.
Most Swiss clubs will have already made the extension to EGA handicap class 6 at the turn of the year 2015/2016 in order to be able to order the cards for their members.
For those clubs that have not yet made the switch, please read on:
The EGA (European Golf Association) is extending the handicap system to the new handicap class 6 (EGA handicap 37 to 54).
Our PC CADDIE update will be available for download from 1 December 2015. With this new PC CADDIE version 2015b, all PR players will be converted to an EGA handicap:
Print out a list of members in advance for self list of members, sorted alphabetically, with today's handicap.
You are also welcome to print a second list, just for the PR players:
(Note: The master data file is automatically saved as a copy later during the changeover. As a precaution, you can also perform a perform a quick data backup ).
Download PC CADDIE update
Important before loading the update:
Carrying out the AHR
You must carry out the AHR before ordering the ASG card.
Only start the upgrade to handicap class 6 on a single computer via the PC CADDIE menu:
Handicaps/Conversion to EGA handicap up to 54
Before the changeover starts, you will receive a confirmation prompt.
Important before starting:
If you confirm the security enquiry, the handicap system is now automatically expanded to include EGA handicap class 6.
And you're actually finished now! But just to be on the safe side:
After the expiry, print out the list of all HCP changes since 1.12.15. Fill in the date (from 1.12.15 to the current day) and tick the „Changes“ box. Check carefully.
Is everything done?
Then you can restart PC CADDIE on all other workstations and have the update installed automatically everywhere.
Members with an adjusted handicap are automatically sent to the ASG intranet with the next intranet synchronisation.
After steps 1 to 3 you can now order the order the 2016 ASG licence cards.
For players who are to be labelled as JUNIOR according to the ASG, JUNIOR is automatically noted on the card. In our PC CADDIE version 2015b, this applies to juniors up to the age of 18.
After the changeover, you can see the exact conversion for the new handicap.
Here is an example for you to view:
The best round result achieved, looking back to 1 January 2014, was 34 Stableford points.
This result was calculated on the basis of the previous HCP system: i.e. PR as well as HCP 36.
With the 34 Stableford points, 2 points were therefore missing to achieve a handicap of 36.
The player therefore receives a new EGA handicap of 38 (36 plus 2).
This information only applies to Swiss clubs that downloaded the PC CADDIE update before 10 a.m. between 1.12.15 and 3.12.15. We have already informed these clubs on 3 December 2015 by telephone or, in their absence, by email, and loaded the update again.
The affected clubs will also be informed by phone or e-mail about the following checklist, which should still be printed!
In special exceptional cases, we had noticed twice that with the changeover of the HCP system, some members automatically had rounded change entries in the master sheets (e.g. HCP 24.4 then became 24.0)
As a precaution, please print out the following checklist again:
Select Handicaps/Print - Handicap entries
Select the following settings: Date 1.12.15 to 3.12.15 and Text: Change as in the following screenshot!
If everything is correct, no person will appear on the list. If there are members on the list, please contact us at support@pccaddie.com. We will then correct it!
Clubs with which we have already installed handicap class 6 from 25.11.15, please print from date 25.11.15!
